Who Am I?
Following my degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, I taught at Calvin Christian School in Edina, Minnesota for three years. But Calvin was more than just my work place. It has been a home to me as it was my elementary school for 9 years. Even today, I continue to stand with Calvin Christian to do what I can to encourage the families that send their students there, and the faculty that make it happen. I am excited to be an extension of Calvin Christian's quality education overseas. As a missionary, financial contributions are only one channel for support. Calvin plays a role in supporting me that goes beyond any financial gift. Any student in the upper grades could tell you all about God’s work in Southeast Asia and Liberia and have pictures and letters to show for it.
I first traveled to Africa in 1987 to encourage my uncle and aunt, Ken and Ginny McMillan, in the Congo. Although I was only 8 years old, the experience remains a vivid turning point of my life. In 2004 I returned to Africa, this time to Ghana. A spark ignited in my heart and was fueled by the lives of orphans in Southeast Asia. The passion to reach Africans and Orphans became a reality when I was asked to serve with OrphanAge Foundation in Liberia. I watch God equip my team to establish an effective, Christian, Liberia-run elementary school in two years.
Now I am a missionary with WorldVenture preparing to move to Singapore. There I will mentor and disciple kids and their teachers throughout Southeast Asia.
